While reading any of your posts, you should be able to edit or delete it by entering your password in the appropriate field at the bottom of your post on the right side of the screen. Please try it to see if it works for you. This, and any other replies in the thread, will not be deleted. Your message will be replaced with something like "MESSAGE DELETED BY POSTER" but other messages in the thread are not affected.

Note to all: This is the password used WHEN YOU CREATED YOUR POST. The password is encrypted and stored with the post. The forum software makes no attempt to go back and update old posts with a new password.

I think some of the issues posters are having with passwords not working is that browsers often try to "remember" passwords and fill them in for you to make things easier for you. If if have ever seen a small pop-up asking if a password should be remembered, that is your browser doing that, not the server. It is reading the screen, noting fields it determines to be a user name and password, and is trying to make an association between the two so that it can automatically fill them in for you in the future. It will categorize these user names and passwords based on the domain name in the URL, as obviously (hopefully?) the user name and password you use here is not the same as the ones you use to access accounts you have on other sites, such as your bank account. If they are, please let me know so I can "test things."  LOL

So, if you see a pop-up asking to remember a combination of a user name and password, and the user name is the name you are using to post, it is a good idea respond by telling your browser to remember that association. However, often it may pop-up with a user name that is NOT what you are using to post, in which case you should respond by telling it to NOT remember that combination. Firefox seems to be most aggressive in trying to remember these associations, and often gets them wrong. 

All browsers have settings that enable you to edit these associations, but they vary depending on browser (and version), so I won't go into detail on that here. Just keep in mind that if your password suddenly stops working, it is probably because your browser somehow got confused and is "remembering" and filling in the wrong password. A first step then is to manually type over whatever it filled in with what you know is your actual password, and see if that works. And if it recognizes that change and asks to remember that combination, tell it to remember that, and not what is had previously associated.

Nothing in the world is perfect (except Taylor Swift) and things often do not go exactly as planned.
