OT - Passenger door on my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek does not lock
I have a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. The passenger door does not lock. I have tried the fob, the push button on the drivers door and the push button on the passenger's door. I hear a small noise but the door does not lock. Is there a setting someplace or is there something defective that will have to replaced by the dealer?

There’s probably an owners forum - your first stop could be there to see what other owners might be reporting.
Failing that, assuming your trim level has keyless/pushbutton, get out the manual. Reset your seating positions using the power seat buttons on the door AND (especially) the key fob.
If that doesn’t work, take it to your dealer. They have more insight into failure rates and trends and can usually fix things faster. Even with their higher door rate, it ends up being cheaper.

Sounds like a solenoid issue.

If pushing the lock on the passenger door does not work, that indicates a mechanical failure and not a setting needing changing.
Unlike design to prevent windows from opening to prevent kids from opening them, I cannot think of any reason to "program" locks to not lock.
The mechanical lock works by transferring motion through a rod to the the locking mechanism. Electric locks work using a solenoid and actuator motor to create this movement. The small noise you hear is that, which means it is trying to lock to the door but cannot, because the manual locking mechanism is either stuck or broken.
Removing the door panel to take a peek can be hard or easy. They usually have a few screws near the center of the panel hidden around the armrest, and then plastic panel clips around the perimeter that pop out as you work around it using a spudger. Body shops are usually familiar with removing door panels and have he tools to do so and could probably remove it in a matter of minutes.
