Drill press table counterweight.

It only took me 35 years to get around to making this counterweight for my Craftsman drill press. The table does not have a mechanism to raise or lower the table which is the only thing I don't like about the machine. Its built from junk I had around the shop. I welded two pieces of steel to a bracket below the headstock casting and made a pulley from plastic to go between the added tabs. I'll get a steel chain next time I'm at the hardware store and make a guide for the weight next. For as crude as it is it works rather well. I need to add a few more pounds to the weight for better balance but this was a good starting point.
