Patio Table

I finished a patio table and benches that I am enjoying immensely with the cooler weather and thought I would share. Made from Red Grandis, a Eucalypt commercially grown in Uruguay. It is purported to have good rot resistance. It is medium density, and medium hardness, with some of the darker pieces actually being quite dense.

Handsome table! Don't know what you got for the dining room but I would consider moving it indoors. I would be holding an umbrella over it if it was raining so as to not mar that lovely top.
Lucky you don't have me as a neighbor or it would disappear into my dining room in the dark of night

Thanks everyone for your kind words. It was a fun table to build. I put on the recommended 6 coats of Epifanes, but still keep it covered when not in use. I mortised in for some PVC feet to keep the wood elevated and dry and did the tenons on the shaper.

The inside or outside question

Whether to bring the table inside or let it remain outside was indeed pondered in my household. It was decided that there was no need for yet another type of wood to be brought in to the dining room and that a similar table, in white oak should be put on the docket.

That looks great! With brightwork like that you could take it to the next boat show and compete.
I only got a couple years from a Western Red Cedar chair that was fully exposed. I think 2 coats of the Epiphanes cost more than the wood. At the time, a quart (or, near to) cost $50 and was only available at a marine store. Oh, use it all or the stuff dries.
