No finish yet. Plans were adapted from a friend’s plans.

How did you carve the saddle? And, is the fan back steam bent or laminated?

Carved the seat bottom w/ drawknife and spokeshave. Carved the bowl w/ 4 1/2" angle grinder w/ various attachments.

Crest is steam bent.

Stain. If I were going to paint it, I would have probably used poplar (or even white pine) as a seat. You can't see it from the picture, but the soft maple has a really pretty grain.
