Epoxy question...
Barry Irby
I bought some Chem Craft epoxy from a youtuber in Canada for filling voids in tables. The first batch I bought ran through and onto the floor. Literally takes days for the stuff to set. I tried improving on my tape on the bottom and then catching the stuff in a bucket and pouring it back in the top.
So I ordered more and used about half of it. I have about half a liter left and its maybe four months old, been stored in my chemical cabinet in a conditioned space. Today I opened the can to get a good idea on how much I have and it ahs turned white and is like the old paste we had in school. I was unaware of a shelf life. The can was well sealed. I will contact the Canadians tomorrow, but in the mean time WTF. Any of you that have more experience with epoxy than I do....
What did I do wrong? (Was very careful not to get ANY hardener in the resin.)
Is the stuff recoverable? Could I mix it as a paste and use it to fill voids on the bottom of the table?
Should I be concerned about the table I made and sold? It was not a "River" table but di have some voids filled with this stuff with black pigment.
