Try blowing the dust out of the motor especially around the centrifugal switch end. and make sure the reset button is pushed in all the way.

I'll blow out the motor with my compressor.

But I'm sorry to be so thick -

- where do I find the centrifugal switch end.

- is the reset button the little button on the motor?

I can push it in with zero resistance at all - do I hold it in?

The end with the switch is opposite from the pulley end the reset just push it in and it should re set.

saw dust can cause the switch not to operate as it should, I hope that this is what is causing your problem.

I've had dust build up in the on/off switch box. Dust fouls the contact points. Blow it out too.

The first step is to find out why the arbor will not turn.

Can you rotate the motors shaft?

Take the belts off.

Does the arbor rotate? If not, probably siezed bearings, or maybe a pulley has crept on the shaft and is wedged against the housing.

Does the motor rotate? If so, turn it on and give it a spin. If it takes off, the centriphical starter switch contacts are dirty. Blowing them out usually cures the issue.

The starts only if spinning could be a starting capacitor too.

If the saw is used a lot and the motor frame is open a TEFC motor may be a good investment.

Thank you to everybody for your advice.

Just tried more electrical diagnostics. Used the same extension cord on -

- a lamp

- the other circuit

No change.

Plug the extension cord into the other circuit.

Voila!

The lamp comes on!

Plug another machine into the same circuit as the tablesaw.

Nothing.

Change both fuses.
