This is my all time favorite if the diameter can be tolerated. With the larger body diameter, it acts more like a shaper than a router bit.

I like Magnate for standard bits. Bigger selection of standard bits than any of the majors. Probably made overseas, but the quality is top notch regardless.

I would select individual top and bottom bearing bits in the desired length from Magnate and save yourself about $140. They probably won't be spiral, but I wouldn't need that personally.

Here's a cut I make over and over. The bit is a 2" tall flush trim, top bearing. Magnate offers an option for three cutters rather than two, that is usually what I buy. I get about 80 of these cuts (end grain) before sharpening.

Barry, I ordered the Whiteside ultimate combination trim bit from Holbren Tools in Florida for a delicate pattern routing job. I needed to pattern rout the skirt on a desk I'm building after it was glued into place. The pattern included the front legs of the desk that were attached and glued to the skirt. The grain direction was all over the board, so I feared the worst. I bit the bullet and bought the expensive bit. It worked like a charm - zero tearout and it left a perfect surface. I've used a bunch of different flush trim bits over the years with varying results. None comes close to the Whiteside bit. It's amazing. Expensive, yes, but worth every penny when you need it to be perfect.

It is too large in diameter for this job but it works well when it's size is not a problem. Of course the Ultimate bit would have been too large also.
