OTT washing machine hoses

We have an LG washing machine, one of those new ones that sounds like a ghost is in the house, and actually scares the cat.
Started to leak a lot, and SWMBO diagnosed the problem as the cold water intake valve. This is the valve we have, as pictured on Amazon:
We ordered the pictured replacement but what actually came was the newer version which can't be broken down to component parts like this one, it would require us to make a full replacement and reconnect all the hoses. The hoses have super burly swages on them about 3/4" long, and they look like something only doable in the factory. Can one use other hose compression fittings, such as those for pex? Can they just be pulled off and pushed back on. What is the drill?
