Face Framing kitchen cab's
Mike L
Howdy. I am the proud owner of a mobile home that had sat empty for awhile. I am in the destruction stage right now to figure out all that needs to be repaired. Most of the stuff is pretty simple. I want to keep the cost down on the repairs where I can. The goal is to make it safe, dry and rentable.
My question is the cabinets in the kitchen. I am about to take them all out and replace them with something way better. I noticed the sides where made of 1/2 in particle board along with the face frames made of 1/2 inch wood.
My plan is to make the case out of 3/4 inch paint grade hardwood plywood, the back and bottoms out of 1/2 inch hardwood plywood.
The face frames I was going to go with 3/4 inch popular. I took all the Euro hinges off the old doors and would like to reuse them. What would be the down fall of using 1/2 popular for the face frames?
The style of hinge I took off fits the width of the face frame.
I plan on French cleats to hold the uppers if that matters.
Thanks
Mike
