I just irrevocably damaged my WW2 10-inch TS blade and need to replace it.

I've had it a loooooong time and it's stood me in good stead. I could just get another one but I'm thinking I'd like to try something else. Plus, less money wouldn't hurt either.

I'd appreciate your recommendations.

My methods of work are: +/- 75% of the time, MDF. Probably +/- 20% in plywood. And the remainder in solid wood.

I don't own a jointer so I'd welcome a great finish off the blade.

And when it comes to solid wood, I'd prefer a combination blade. I'm reluctant to need to switch between ripping blade and crosscutting blades.

The Stumpy Nubs guy recommends Ridge Carbide. I can't help much, I am a fan of the WWII.

I've had no problems with the Freud 10" blades, be they rip, crosscut or combo.

I cut a lot higher percentage of hardwoods and a lot less off "termite barf" than you do. I have a couple of Forrest WWII blades, but I prefer my Freud combo and glue line rip blades.

to trust that guy far. I see he has a link reference to ridge to make sure he gets a cut if you buy one and he always boasts that a product is "unsponsored" but provides links to buy with an ID token (so he gets a commission).

Not that I've heard anything bad about ridge, but the guy himself is lacking in much as far as displaying making.

..I don't use power tools as much as I used to, but bought all forrest products at the outset except for a garbage wood cutting blade. At some point, I cut back and went to lower cost fusion blades when they were on sale and I can't tell any practical difference either in the prior saw or the cheaper saw that I have now (which admittedly is just a higher end jobsite saw).

Even the hybrid saw that I had came with too much runout at the arbor to ever really take full advantage of any "glue line" blade, so anything other than limiting tearout and cutting ease is more than I need.
