a lot. Before I moved I had dedicated shop area and most of th work I did was on the outfeed table of the saw. I know have a roller table that is the same height as my saw so I use it more now then the outfeed table.

I use mine a lot but for typically small jobs, often not even woodworking jobs, so it isn't a big deal if I have to clear it off to cut something. I wouldn't want to assemble a cabinet or similar on it.

Fortunate to have the space, my outfeed table is about 48 x 54 white laminated MDF for ripping 4x8 sheets as well as long boards. The white plastic laminate allows glue ups, designing on graph paper, and taking occasional pencil notes. Underneath is a large storage cabinet for tablesaw sleds and tenoning jig.

It offers a very convenient space for woodworking - especially in a smaller shop, plus helps in supporting long pieces exiting from your TS. It can get cluttered up with junk, but that can happen even with a real work bench. It doesn't replace a full size work bench, but is not intended to. Give it a try. Jim

Separate cabinet

My work “table” is a separate cabinet built to the same height as the TS. The gap between them is often not helpful. Both are on casters/mobile base, but they’ve hardly moved in years. Well, except for the cabinet which often moves when I don’t want it to, especially when planes or scrapers are involved. Changes may be a-comin’ with this setup.

Chuck, I've used movable carts as outfeed surfaces, locking the wheels. Recently, I've been thinking about devising some kind of hooks to temporarily attach the carts together to make a larger work, assembly or glue-up table and to attach to the table saw and jointer for infeed and outfeed.

Bad design on my part. My cabinet has locking casters but not enough room to operate the locking levers.
