The hoop is 88" long. The box was 84". The last 2" on either side extended past the foam. As they were straight pieces for the "paddles" - I figured it was okay.

Almost all furniture I look at and run through my mind how I would make it. Not these kinds of chairs. It looks impossible to line all that up to the attractive results you achieve.

Yep, that's impressive.

Beyond my skill set.

I just bought a steamer and box buy have not used it yet. That back crest rail is very three dimensional. The best I can do is wish I could do it.

How were you able to accomplish the glue-up with 24 spindles and two arm posts to assemble? That’s a lot of mortise and tenon joints upon which to apply glue, line up and insert.

To number the spindles and identify the arm posts. The spindle length does vary with the four short ones and six longer ones of different lengths. The back spindles were all about 26 1/4” to start.

Two people. Hide glue. Arm posts go in and are wedged first. Then glue the spindle holes and insert spindles in the proper holes. Put glue in the hoop holes. Put the hoop on one of the arm posts. Start working the hoop onto the spindles. Level the hoop. Put glue on the wedges and start hammering them in.

That works! If I ever get around to building one, I won't worry about it. My steambox is 96" long.

Beautiful JL. Love, what appear to be, the wedge tenons on the arms both from a construction standpoint and as an accent. Please show us a pic when you have applied a finish. Jim
