Drawer slides/runners

OK, So what about using 1/2'' bottom for drawer & sides, with piece of 1&1/2' oak, cypress, pine, mayple(scrap) for runners! Fit the sides into the 1&1/2 by TS'ing notch/? for side to fit into/on.

This runners being located on top of cabinet, etc underbeath, SCARED?? cover the runnr/slide with

some ''slick tape''.

The 1/2'' bottoms will prevent bottom from sagging/belling down on to what its setting on.
