Wood with spalting (actually with the black zone lines) is some of my favorite to turn.

Thanks so muich for the link to the article Tom. Don't know how much I would have been able to absorb had I not bought and read Dr. Seri Robinson's first book on the history and science of spalting, and the second, Spalting 101, but the article, while a challenging read, provided so much interesting and explanatory supplemental information on what occurs when wood spalts, choosing spalting fungi, and the optimal conditions for spalting.
