Blum hinge question

Pat Evans

I've never used Blum hinges and haven't had a lot of luck getting info from the web. I've determined that I need CLIP top 170 degree hinges for a twin overlay condition in order to get a 0" reveal. All the info I've found shows using a wing mounting plate. I would prefer using the in-line mounting plate, but the Blum application tool (Excel macro worksheet) doesn't show the in-line plate as an acceptable plate for that hinge in a twin overlay condition. I can't see why that plate wouldn't work. If anyone can shed some light on its suitability, I would appreciate it.

BTW I intend to use threaded inserts and machine screws in lieu of the EXPANDO dowels that Blum sells for the twin overlay application.
