Fretsaw Blades for Dovetails
Don Stephan
Wondering what fretsaw blades work well for sawing the bulk of the waste of dovetails and pins. I understand that there are fretsaws, and then there are Fretsaws, and mine is a run of the mill one. But I'm not sure if the ideal blade depends on the quality of the fretsaw. Looking at the blue tape message on my fretsaw this afternoon, I couldn't clearly read what I had suggested a couple years ago - looked like #5 13 tpi but not sure. And I don't know if that really is an ideal blade for sawing across black cherry, black walnut, maple, and other hardwoods. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
