Jet Jointer - what's it worth?

Tim Greif - West of Chicago

First of all, it this is not the proper place to ask this, Ellis, please let me know.

I have an old Jet Jointer model JJ6-CSX that I think needs a new home. I just don't use it anymore. It's in great shape and I'd like to see someone make use of it. I bought this about 20 years ago but just haven't had much use for it in the last few years. It's still a current model, as far as I can tell. Amazon shows it listed for over $1,200 with free shipping. That's an obscene price for this thing. I'd like to know what you all think is a fair price for it, and where to sell it. Looking at Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace does not reveal much in the way of Jet Jointers. Maybe this is a wild goose chase.

Dave's Not Here

I have that exact Jointer and IIRC correctly I think I paid about $450 for it when I bought it. You probably paid something in that range when you bought yours. Depending on your local markets availability of used 6" jointers, I see no reason why you couldn't get somewhere between $600-$700 for it.

Mine is the same unit, but was the last year of blue color. 1995. Paid $449.00

List it higher. The buyer will normally ask to take less for the deal. You can always come down. All depends on how soon you want to sell it.
