Router cord??

Tom Norton

I am finally going to replace the stuff cord on my Porter Cable router. So I was wondering what gauge wire to use?

I believe it is a 1 1/2 hp.

Thanks!!

Original was probably 18 gauge. I'd replace with 16 gauge if possible.

Check the amp rating on the router. If it is 13 amps or less, 16 gauge is ok. If it is 15 amps, you should use 14 gauge.

14 gauge, and make it a little longer so you don't have to search out an extension cord all the time.
