Sleeve for vac hose, I've been shorted

When is a 2 x 4 not a 2 x 4? When you buy it at the borg...
I decided to follow some the the YouTubers I saw and put a sleeve on my vac hose. I found out you can buy nylon sleeve and install it on your vac hose and help with the corrugated nature of the hose grabbing on the edges of things. The stuff is sold as cable sheath and I bought a 25' role of 1 1/4" to fit on my Festool hoses that are about 11' long. The hose measures 1.35" in diameter and I also ran a cord through with it. I suspected I would lose a little length as the diameter expanded. (Ask your wife or girl friend to explain that to you if you don't understand.)
It worked pretty well and appears it is going to smooth out the hose and make it more pleasant to use and keep the cord from tangling also. I got the roll of Alex Tech sheath and cut it in half. Installed both pieces and ended up with about 9' on each hose. Turns out the stuff comes flattened about an inch wide and 25' long. That means that without stretching the opening, the stuff is actually comes about 5/8" in diameter. It's easy to stretch the diameter but as you do it gets shorter. A lot shorter. Instead of 25' I ended up with 18'.
