Got it!!

Sam Force

SWMBO and I both received our 1st covid vaccine today, we are very grateful to be able to have done so. Hopefully get the 2nd in 3 weeks, we will still wear our masks and take all precautions for quite some time. But at least this is the beginning

2nd shot reaction- protection metrics

Bill Tindall, E.Tn.

Daughter described her reaction to round two as the response of an "enthusiastic" immune system. An apt description in my case too. Onset T-plus 8 hours. Like having the flu. Slept for 13 hours. My wife's reaction was from a 'Laid back" immune system, not wanting to summon any more reaction than the minimum called for.

If my reaction to round two was anything like what my reaction to the real things would have been, I am glad to be immune to it.

Efficacy data from Pfizer

Surprisingly, the VA called me yesterday to see if I wanted the shots. I'm scheduled to get the first (Pfizer vaccine) shot on Saturday morning, with the second one scheduled for 20 February.

My wife and I are scheduled to get our first shot on Tuesday, and I can’t wait.

Don’t know if it’ll be affected by whether or not the groundhog sees his shadow.

Same here.

I'm still trying to get one scheduled. I'm 71, wife is 66. No luck finding any appointments in my area, even using two addresses (we have two homes).

No vaccines are currently available here in rural South Jersey, either. We are both over 65, and have medical conditions which should prioritize us, and have registered.

Glad to hear it....

The more the better! I found the vaccine symptoms quite mild, hope you do too. Even if not mild, still totally worth it :D

Re: Got it!! - not eligible yet

Wife got MIL signed up for a mid February appointment. She looked again this morning and saw that more appointments had opened up (central Indiana). I saw in the paper this morning that the states are getting additional vaccines this week - yay. Indiana is open for 70 and up with the chance of 65 and up starting next week. I am thinking of asking my brother if he still has his fake id from college (40+ years ago) :b . I am greatly looking forward to when they get to my age group 60+. Son (an RN) had mild flu symptons with 2nd shot for a day and was real tired the next day - but he was also coming off of 4 straight 12+ hour shifts at the hospital. His girl friend had no side affects from either shot.

Wife and I both had no side effects, have our 2nd vaccines scheduled for February 17th. We are very thankful. I know that everyone that is involved are doing their very best. It is not as simple as snapping your fingers and poof it's done. Our healthcare workers are real heroes!!!

With the combined efforts of the federal, state, and local governments I figure that I'll get mine by mid-February...

Of 2022...

Assuming they don't screw something else up before then...

We got our first doses yesterday. My arm is rather sore, but otherwise no problems. Joanne did not even have a sore arm. Once we are fully immunized, I'll feel safe going places.
