Jimmy Carter - woodworker

I wonder how many people know that Jimmy Carter was (and maybe still is) an avid woodworker.
I was privileged to work alongside of him at a Habitat for Humanity build in Houston. It was over 100 degrees with 100 percent humidity, and there were the Carters - both of them - up on the roofs of houses being built. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is!
I saw a show on him

and the work he was doing with HH. There was a younger guy working with him on a build. The had to cut a 2x4 I think and the younger kid went to get a circular saw. Jimmy Carter grabbed a hand saw cut the board straight and on the mark before the younger guy got back. The look on the his face was priceless.

I remember! Just yesterday or today there was a photo in the news of President Carter working on such a house.
He was even in FFW one year.

I wrote Jimmy Carter a letter one time asking about the parting gift his Presidential staff gave him upon his leaving office, a full woodworking shop, and if he got much use out of it. He sent me a very nice note saying he uses his shop often .. whenever he can. He said he also does paintings in his shop.
I asked him if I could go down and interview him in his shop and talk about his projects, which I would have posted on this forum. Unfortunately for me, he graciously told me he didn't have the time.
That was 11 years ago. He's now 96 years old .. the longest living US President ever. I wonder if he still works in his shop much.

Working in the shop and on houses keeps him young.
That said, I'm going to get back to work 
Came up for some coffee and to check on a supplier idea and found I'd blown an hour on the internet.
