Starting a drawer campaign with some tips

The desk underway has two pedestals of drawers for a total of 8 drawers. 8 drawers equals 40 parts to find lumber for and keep track of.

Drawer parts are a way to utilizing bits and pieces of lumber left from other jobs. As I go through what could be used I compare what I find against a cut list. When I find a piece that will work I stick it in the drawer opening. This storage lets me know at a glance which drawer's parts I have found lumber for and it keeps track of a lot of parts, 32 for the drawer sides in this case.
Typically I use rift or quartered lumber for drawer sides. I build one drawer at a time. Thin drawer parts can move. Once I get the 4 sides cut to final size I get on with dovetailing and assembling the drawer. Once assembled the dovetails will keep the parts from cupping or twisting.
