Not so easy in Ohio. Info is lacking. Basically Phase 1, health care and 1st responders. Phase 2, those over 65 or with health issues. Sometime later everybody else... all depends on vaccine availability. No real dates.

I hope that by this time next year, or maybe late Fall - early winter, my wife and I will be able to get a vaccine. Hopefully I am wrong and things will really start to ramp up early February/March and maybe mid summer we can get it.

We are already two cohorts past where PA is at. The site says just doing 1st responders and nursing homes. We are doing teachers already.

If I remember correctly Ohio Gov DeWine said today the state is supposed to learn each Tuesday what quantity of vaccine will be received the following Monday. But no quarantees until the package is received and counted. Makes publicizing a plan difficult.

People who are not first responders are getting vaccines now, but as I understand it, the whole system isn't very orderly or well communicated.

My spouse is not a first responder, but will probably be getting the shot late this week (I say probably because it was communicated first to be earlier and then to be much later and now we're back to closer to the earlier date with an actual appointment).

I'd expect individuals over 75 will be able to get shots soon (nursing home patients in that age group obviously already going).

The mrs. mentioned (I didn't check) that the health secretary said something about needing to secure more funding to train people to administer the vaccine. This sounds absolutely idiotic to me, but people in political and appointed offices aren't very good at solving problems quickly, and very good at moving slowly and pointing the finger at something arbitrary. I guess nobody makes enough money administering the shot for it to be a priority and the groups jumping ugly to do it (like pharmacies do with the flu shot) aren't given much priority.

Vaccine acceptance.....the injection site for drive up injection has been moved to local Bristol NASCAR track that accommodates 150000 race fans. It looks like those that fear taking it will be few.

From the PA. dept. of health website:

"Vaccination locations and contacts for non-affiliated health care personnel will be available after January 6, 2021."

There's no mention of how long after January 6 so they've got it covered.

... I haven't had any shortage of information from my health plan about the layout of the priority categories and where they are in them. Doc's office would probably have an answer, too.

My spouse is part time/casual non-front line healthcare (sort of, she still deals with patients, but not in any COVID areas) and got jabbed today. Based on the communications I get from my health plan (i'm in the last group and would need to gain some weight to move up.. ), march/april is estimated.

Haven't needed to go to the PA website.
