Mike, I have found this type of hose clamp to be very convenient to allow disconnects between machines, more so than the typical keyed hose clamp. I have a permanent 6 inch to 4 inch reducer on my DC main pipe with this corrugated hose attached. I move this single hose between my jointer and planer. I can't remember where I bought this clamp, but Woodcraft carries something similar (link below). Hope this helps. Jim

3D printing one

I had talked to the LOML this morning about 3D printing something. I like the idea of the Magport's. I might try and modify them to suit me better and use a 3D printer to make one and test it out. I found a place by me that will teach you how to use a 3D printer. The first class is building it, the second class is calibrating and testing it and the third class is using the software and making something. The best part is yo leave with the printer you built.

I am heading to Knoxville to do some other stuff, so I figure while I am there I will visit Woodcraft. I like these style clamps and will get a few for now. I also need a better DC hose so I might get a longer new one there.

I have most of my tools permanently connected but I have a hose I move around to the sanders and planers. I have a four inch connector on the end and it just fits on the machines. I bought them at Woodcraft years ago. Be careful, they have four inch reducers to go to shop Vacs and there is an internal one and external one.
