Bandsaw blade repair question
Barry Irby
I have a Hitachi B-600A bandsaw that runs a 3" wide 1tpi Stellite blade. I touched a hardened screw buried in a piece of cedar and damaged blade. I can't see anything wrong with it. All the tiny teeth are present and I don't see any bent or misshapen teeth. But it cuts like it is very dull and pushed the wood t the left. I have ordered a replacement blade, at $130, but I hate to trash this one.
I called a local saw shop and the guy on the phone said they could sharpen a 3" wide blade and set it. I suspect he was just mouthing the words.
Who can fix such a blade?
The Stellite is so tiny if they get heavy handed grinding them, they will be gone.
