Dumb Router Question
Barry Irby
I saw what appears to be a new Porter Cable 6931 plunge base for a router at a tool auction. Is there any chance it will fit a Bosch router and work properly? I have several routers that do not have plunge bases.

Doubt it, the mounting techniques used for routers in their bases vary's quite a lot. Some use pins that fit into spiral groves in the base part....placement of pins is not standardized at all.
No chance

When P-C'S plunge router base was first issued, the company touted that it could accept other motors than just P-C, as long as the diameter was right. I remember that it could take the professional-grade Black and Decker motor of the period, but don't recall about Bosch. And it would likely depend on how old your Bosch motor is; the Bosch motor of that period is not the same configuration as the newer ones.
If you already bought it, try your Bosch motor in it.
