OT-You Tube question

Tom Norton

Not sure if it is me or something has changed. When watching a video on Youtube I can't seem to fast forward the video . Has something changed or am I missing something??

Thanks!

I just click on the red dot on the slide bar at the lower part of the picture and slide it across to where I want to be .just tried it and it worked for me.

I spend way too much time watching YouTube. I am a YouTube Certified Woodworker.

I watch many of them at 1.25 or 1.50 speed. (Weird because I spend much effort finding things to watch and then rush through them.)

You can watch at 2.0 if you wish. I find the 1.25 speed still sounds pretty normal but 2.0 sounds like Mickey.

If I stop one and close it out and come back the system remembers where I was and starts there. If I watch half of one on my office computer and then go home, it picks up where I left off.

I can back up, using the slider and them move forward using the slider. And I can move forward, using the slider, as far as the white bar extends. If you move too far forward it may get tangled up in the ads.

So, it works like it always has for me.

Thank! Before I was tapping further right on the slide bar and it would advance. It doesn't do it now but it does advance if I slide the red dot.

I download a lot of them, and watch them on a playback system. Then I can save any files I particularly like. Mostly I started doing it because my system was too slow. Just became a habit. A file that would stutter and be unwatchable, would download in say 30 seconds. Occasionally very good videos disappear, but I have copies. So with that approach I can use whatever playback features the wide range of available software allows.
