Alcohol/Shellac Question, sort of

Barry Irby

I was at the Orange Borg yesterday and they have gallon jugs of Hand Sanitizer that are 80% ethanol. $25 The other ingredients are glycerin, Hydrogen Peroxide, and water.

I wondered if it were possible to use this with shellac? Pretty sure the glycerin nixes that. What say you shellac users?

Sometimes I hate it when I'm right.

Dunno about the glycerin (where’s Bill?), but the shellac can’t stand water in the ethanol. I like Green Stripe ethanol for shellac-dissolving strength.
