Anybody Making Desks for Kids???

I have seen a couple of feel good stories about people making desks for kids because of the Covid thing. Apparently some kids don't have a good place to do their schoolwork at home.
Is anyone doing this as a public service?
I was thinking I have a bunch of odds and ends I could turn into desks.

Not doing it myself, but a buddy is. His group uses half inch ply to build very minimal desks for youngsters.
The kids get to paint their own.
The group is hyper organized. Some run the money side, mostly online things like Gofundme. Others buy the lumber and/or wheedle donations or big discounts. Others deliver the lumber to volunteer woodworkers who glue them together. Others pick up the desks and deliver to kids with paint and disposable brushes.
They are really churning them out!
