Deja vu all over again
Clint Searl
Inspired by Mr Tindall's project to showcase a piece of petrified wood in a small table a couple years ago, put me on a path to do likewise and include a reference to the Japanese way to display interesting stones called sui seki. The result was a simple design of just six pieces of walnut and twelve cut nails.
I liked how it turned out, so I decide to repeat it with another slab of petrified wood in cherry. It took a while, but it's finished.
It goes well with a Nakashima conoid chair design made by his grandson, Ru Amagansu.
