OT- Android Apps

Tom Norton

Admitting I am tech challenged here I my quandary.

Apps on my wife's phone keep disappearing. I mean they are there being used and a few days later they are gone!

So I have to go to the Play Store and reload.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

It is easy to delete something from a cellphone by just touching the wrong button. Just a thought.

To clarify, you are saying that the icons for particular apps are disappearing. Are they gone from one of the several home screens (swipe right/left) where they have been placed or are they disappearing from the app page (swipe up) or maybe both? I've never known apps to really disappear but more than once I've effectively lost them. If you go to the Play Store and hit the hamburger menu and select 'My apps & games' you will see 'Installed' and 'Library' is the missing app showing up in either of these locations?

John,

I will take a look at that. But when I go to Settings and look at Apps there are not there.

If so then I'd have to say that they are truly gone although I might try a swipe-up and a glance at the list of apps there for confirmation. If they are disappearing for real then I have not a clue and suggest that asking the question at one of the Android support groups might help. If you have access to NNTP service you might ask the question at comp.mobile.android and see if anybody there has more of a clue than I do.

My Tablet and phone both run Android.

As apps are added, they populate additional screens.

I must select them (drag and drop) to place them on the "front page".

As suggested above, search the Gear shaped icon for Settings for APPS folder

(Mine appears as a square made of four smaller squares) for what is installed.

If the app does not appear in the general population, search downloads for apps that need to be installed.
