I would call the local office supply and mailing stores. Some can print out information and/or will copy materials to a flash drive.

Take dimensions off what you have, and modify to suit.

FYI - If you're using handtools (mostly) consider raising the bench top to your belt line.

Many of CS designs put the benchtop at a lower height to accommodate power tool use.

Thanks, it’s a workbench he made for PopWood and it seems they only published a dvd. I was hoping for a sketch-up etc. I’m 74 and curmudgeonly and I like working off *paper* plans...

I am 75 and equally a curmudgeon. All the dimensions are laid out in the pdf file that is a free download. Does not get any easier than that. If you need paper, print the appropriate pages.

Hey, pulling rank curmudgeon—-that’s what I’m trying to find out-where is the elfin PDF? NOT the Anarchist one he gave away for nada, the paper or e-copy of the plan for the dvd he did of “Build A Sturdy Workbench in Two Days.” As far as I’ve found out it’s dvd only, no print anywhere’...

Eyeballing is enough. You squint at one of your many photos, suck on you thumb and extend it (to determine which direction the wind is blowing), then estimate the size of the Stanley #7 lying alongside (hint: it is exactly 22” long), and calculate every dimension from this. Easy peasy.

Nope. Neither of mine do. I have a 2014 iMac and a 2015 McBookAir. Of course, I decided I couldn't live without a peripheral that couldn't read and write DVDs and CDs, so I bought an external drive. It wasn't very expensive, and since it is external, I can connect it to either Mac, or any future Mac I may get to replace one of them. I could probably connect it to one of my wife's PCs if I ever needed to, but I might need to find and install a driver.

I went and looked at the pop woodworking site, doesn't sound like the DVD will have plans on it at all - more of a build along video (I am completely unfamiliar with pop woodworking & their products). I doubt you're going to find a plan for it. But it looks like an easy thing to do by winging it, the bench is not complicated at all - as Derek said, eyeball it.

Or do an image search for free workbench plans (google, bing, whatever) and pick out one you like. You can do the top the same way as in that DVD, there are no rules here. I also saw some butcher block slabs at Lowes maybe six months ago, you could look for one of those as I don't think they'd need doubling up like the Ikea one....

Obsession with small, obsession with just a few ports, etc. I expect Windows machines will move in the same direction if they aren't already.

For the moment though, it's still a bit unusual if you aren't a mac user.

What you download from the Lost Art Press site IS the pdf file. Save it and then you can print from it. Ignore the Pop Wood site.

I just got my computer converted to windows 10. Still have the DVD drive. But windows 10 doesn't include any application for playing DVDs. I had to download an application for that. I'm using "anyplayer".

The millennials only know about streaming.

My son asked me why I lock my old pickup truck. "I don't want anyone to steal my CDs."

Then my reality is that when I get my wood all together, it is probably going to be more efficient to build to different dimensions anyway. I can be lucky enough that I have an all solid top, but then why would I cut it, or worry if it was 1 inch too narrow. Benches are basically the simplest things we build, vertainly if one is not building the vises. The market does not require many different books on making the other kind of benches. That said, I think I may have this book.
