I don't have that particular camera but I have owned many Canons analog and digital. I'd suggest that, if you are worried about quality, that you hunt down an OEM Canon battery. If you can't readily find one on your own then Canon's technical support people can probably steer you to a reputable vendor. Be prepared to pay up to 50% more for the OEM unit over an off-brand but caution sometimes carries a price. I generally use Canon batteries and always have a spare on hand for each one I am using so I never need to stop shooting when I'm on a roll.

So I have been looking at different batteries. My original says 650MaH some replacements say 600,800,900 and 1200.

What does this mean?

650 mAH = 650 milliamp-hours, which means the battery can (supposedly) deliver 650 milliamps for one hour at the rated voltage. Or, more likely, some fraction of that for a multiple of the time--as in, 325 mA for 2 hours. However, not all batteries are created equal. Some are much better at delivering higher amperage for a short time, while some constructions are better at delivering a small current for a long time, but in either case, all else being equal, a bigger number means more capacity, which means a longer runtime.
