Sorry, I can't help. My DF500 Domino machine was older than the patent infringement issue that caused Festool to replace the wonderful sprung cylindrical pins with the kind of kludgy flaps. In the older design, the offset of the pins was adjustable by a smidgen, so replacements that were a skosh off were not needed. Festool's quality control is so precise that I never met a Domino that needed any adjustment at all.

Those are for adjusting the centering alignment of the stop dogs. I described how this is done in the Supplemental Manual.

Like you mine has pins...I felt no need to change when the patent issues occurred and (IIRC) they offered free replacements.

They got it right the first time. Only I suspect it was Mafell who got it right with their DD40P Duo Dowel System. Since there are now at least two other manufacturers (e.g., Freud and Triton) with similar dowel joiners on the market now, I suspect the patent has expired. The system that Festool uses for their DF700 XL is even better.

I cut two mortises, one from the left and one from the right and joined the two pieces. The error, if any, was barely perceptible. Not an extensive test and not exhaustive, but good enough for me.

Rick has also written a supplementary User's manual specifically for the Domino DF 700 XL. I have had both for several years. They are very useful and highly recommended by the Loxahatchee Toolworks.
