Got an email from Garrett Wade advertising these chests. Description states "The Oak “Solutions” Chest is made by the well-known Ohio company in its Asian factory". They are much cheaper in price. Doors this mean they are no longer made in the US?

They still make them in the US, but also market a cheaper line from C****.

Here is Adam Booth’s tour of the Gerstner factory. While the good ones are still made and restored in Ohio, they sell a cheaper line made somewhere else.

It could be made in any of the other 48 countries in Asia, including "Made with Pride in British Indian Ocean Territory"
Naah, you are right, it probably is the "C" word, the one that some retailers have a problem saying out loud.

The ones made overseas are labeled as Gerstner International, the domestic ones as Gerstner and Sons.

I visited the factory a couple of years ago during their open house. They're about 30 miles from home.
The domestic ones currently made had plywood carcasses, the imported ones solid wood,IIRC. I guess I was expecting a little better. The wood on the drawer fronts was just a mish-mash of grain. I expected better grain flow or at least QSWO, as one of the world's largest mills of the stuff is about an hour away.
