u-Block is what I have, but you can achieve the same thing through appropriate settings in either your operating system or your browser.

Hi Phil,

I'm wondering what website you're talking about, so we can go check them out for ourselves. WoodCentral has no popups that I know of.

I run firefox in restricted mode - don't worry about the warning that doing so could interfere with the function of some websites, that is exactly what you want!

I'm also running it on a linux system, I don't know what features are available for windows versions.

I run Firefox in restricted mode on a Mac and get no pop-ups from WC.

I'm running Chrome usually on Windows 10 with nothing but the default installation as far as I know. The Settings do show that pop-ups and redirects are not allowed. I don't get any popups on WC.

Always state your operating system and browser.

With Firefox on Win 10 I get no popups, ad blocker or no.

Maybe some malware? Do a security scan lately?

There are no pop-ups on WC. I suspect that the OP may have some other problems with his system -- possibly embedded malware but I've long since given up on troubleshooting such problems at long distance.

sounds like you have a Malware on your system. There is a program that has a free version and a payable version, that should take care of it. My daughter had a lot of them on different websites and when she ran this they all stopped.

That was going to be my recommendation. I now run the paid version and have had no such issues. It runs in conjunction with Webroot Secure Anywhere here. One or the other stops junk from getting on in the first place and then stands guard ready to stop malware and the like.
