I've been needing a better height gauge than what I've been using.....I even had a tape measure cut-off for one.....so, during this period of isolation, I made a search of YouTube for some ideas.....and came up with this.....
That kerfmaker I made last week came in handy on this gauge.....
The tablesaw blade or router table bit will raise the gauge block and give a reading......
While not exactly Starrett or Mitutoyo, this gauge will serve me well.....besides, it's fun working with things you've made.
When you're making something that you've never made before.....and you have no formal plan just an idea.....and you're making it out of the scrape that's on hand and are somewhat limited to the dimensions of that scrap.....you may get a result that's a little disproportional.....something is out of step.
Like Ellis, I felt that the gauge was too long.....never need that capacity for the table saw or router table.....so. I did trim it a little.
