In honor of the big three.....Virgil, Bill, and Derek.....who go through great effort not only in the things they make; but also, the efforts they make at posting their builds, photography/video, and extensive writing.....I'm posting my latest build.
It's not up to their standards.....but, I wanted a stop on my metal ruler and the prices for one encouraged me to look at my scrap bin with the result......
It ain't much.....but, it's all I got.

Even if a "plug nickel" (whatever that is) I was very impressed with the concept and execution of the pressure plate.

Don.....I tapped the hole in the hard maple with 1/4-20 and then let some CA thin glue get absorbed into the tread fibers and retapped.
I adhered a felt cushion to the coin to protect the ruler from scratching.
I've used a similar system before on other shop built tools.....it works very well.
