I worked as a machinist in a job shop for the first 20 some odd years of my career. Angle plates were something we used almost daily. I made these wooden angle plates (4 pcs) last winter out of some clear framing lumber left over from a porch built a couple years prior. The gussets are made from 1/2 plywood glued into a groove. During the fabrication of these tools I used a steel angle plate clamped to my table saw top to hold these square while the glue set.
Recently these came in handy for holding the sides of a chest while fitting the dovetails of the frames rails.
