Wood Plane Restoration
J. Zimmerman
>I have acquired a Stanley #35 wood plane that is in reasonable good condition. It appears to have been "just sitting" somewhere for the last many decades. The wood base has darkened, much (say 50%) of the finish has flaked off and there is surface rust (light) but no real pitting. I'd like to receive some advise (or source) for restoration instructions, etc. before I undertake something (sole flattening/dress-up for example) that may not be prudent and just widen the throat. I'm not interested in making it look like new; just giving it a tlc facelift.
Thanks
