>My wife has three peices of slate that she wanted me to build a sofa table of sorts around. I have the table top completed and I am currently working on the legs. I am not at the point to do any finishing work but I will be soon.

I have never worked with quartersawn white oak before and I am hoping that someone wiould have some advice on that. Of course doing finishing work is my weakest skill and I have pretty much limited my abilities to stuff right of the can such as minwax and throw a coating of polyurethane on that.

I do not mind braching out to other areas, just need some advice on how too do it.

>Watco Medium Walnut has a nice effect on QSWO -- darkens the color consistent with Mission-style pieces and adds some pop to the rays. I like to give my craftsman-style QSWO pieces a bit of a golden hue, so I mix two parts Watco Medium Walnut with one part Watco Golden Oak.

Once the Watco cures completely (I give it a week or two), topcoat with your favorite finish.
