Air Riveter Problem

>Hi Everyone,

I purchased an air riveter some time ago, haven't used it till now.

It seems to be leaking air at the end of the handle. The air is coming through the extra nosepieces stored at the end of the handle.

Is this normal for these tools? Haven't looked at any other brands.

To much air is being lost to be effective. Can't use the old style riveter due to a tenon problem in both hands. The riveter I have is Magum Air. Any suggestions would be great.

>Sounds like it's leaking around the triger. Try disassembling and look for dry or worn O rings, that sort of thing.

>I got mine about 20 years ago :>). It is a low buck unit from some place like Harbor Freight. Still works tho. The bigest problem I've had was the large culinder wasn't polished that well and the large O ring will wear out after about 1000 rivets. A good hardware store will usually have one that fits. Ocationaly have trouble with the triger leaking but not often.

>Squirt some light oil into the air fitting. If the o-rings are dry they may leak. Might help in the short run. Sort of like priming a pump.JR
