Cherry curio(usity)

Paul D. May

>Good Evening,

I finished this cabinet last weekend and finally got it inside today. Solid cherry cabinet 74" tall with turned purpleheart knobs.

I built a small CD cabinet a while ago and my wife liked the proportions so much that she asked me to build the same cabinet...only larger ...with glass.

Finish is oil and wax. Extruded hinges.

It certainly has been too long between projects....

>Very nice indeed. I like the way the legs flow into the apron? Is that what you would call it? I guess thats done on the table saw..right?

It would be nice to see a few more close up shots.

Thanks

>Very elegant and lovely! I like the contrast of the purpleheart knobs with the cherry. I'm sure this scored big points. :-)

The proportions set a standard. How long did it take to make that?

You have not lost your touch at all.....this is wonderful. I was really liking it as I scrolled down the picture, then I saw the legs and that took it from nice to WOW.

Excellent looking finish as well Paul, it is great to see you posting your work again.

take care,

Jim

Legs are hand cut on the bandsaw and shaped with spokeshaves, files and rasps.
