>Hi,can someone please tell me the best way to join sanding belts.Also the best glue to use. The belts i want to join are 2 metres long and 150mm wide (6 feet long and 6 inches wide. I look forward to your help,

>I don't use that large of belts but I do use 6 in. x 48 in. and have had several come apart at the joint due to old age and the bonding just gives up. The belts are still good and just need to be put back together.

I scrape as much of the old glue off the joint as possible wet then apply Gorilla glue put a piece of wax paper on both sides of the belt , place a wood block on each side put joint back together at the joint , line up the sides clamp and let set for 24 hours or more if humid. Works for me.

There has been other posts on this subject and other glues used but this is all I have ever tried and worked so I did not go for more repairs.
