Bruised or dented wood question?

>I have been making a piece of furniture out of Heart pine. A piece of it fell (or jumped) off the saw table and hit a round knob, making a dent in the board. I put a piece of ice on it, letting it melt, wetting the wood. The dent swelled and is now flush. It had been about a 1/32" + deep and the size of your little finger nail. My question is, is that the end of it? Will it show up as some sort of bruise when I put the finish on? I'm thinking shellac.
