Not since the 60's

>I saw it demonstrated at the IWF show last summer and it was getting a fair amount of attention. I don't know if they are packaging it in pints and quarts yet. Curmudgeon that I am, I figure that I've been making furniture this long without it, but that's not to say it isn't pretty dramatic.
I guess this begs the question of how you check to make sure you've removed all glue residue before finishing, which begs the other question of how you glue up panels in the first place.

>I'm a "model maker" (I use the term very loosly !) but I don't paint them. Just varnish. So wanted to sand off the "squeeze" before finnishing. Tried several things in the glue so it would show up under blacklight. No dice. Anything I mixed that was fairly "inert" (chemical reactions with the glue) did'nt show up. Anything else I tried made my "tack-time" almost instant. I thought it was a clever idea though.
Yup...

>I worked in a shop for a couple years that used it in the wood glue. Worked great, but no one outside the sanding shop bothered to check much. Didn't cause any problems in the glue either. I can't remember where they got it, but maybe I can find out if you really want to try some. One thing I do remember is that it was a real pain to mix into a gallon of glue.

not quite so new

>That has been available in the industrial side for a long time. We were using UV glow glue back in 1981, and I remember it being offered to us by vendors in several shops through the early nineties as well. I don't recall whether Franklin was one of the vendors or not, but I do remember one company in New Jersey.
