Anybody got a good varmit rifle?

Randy Johnson Connersville, IN

>After reading Dan's post below about his furnace being out and facing the coldest temperatures of the season coming in the next several days I've been thinking.....

If someone was to stick a bullet in that little critter tommorow afer he can even SEE his shadow, much less get back to his hole, spring would be almost here.

My uncle had a .22 Hornet…

Rod Peterson -- Ormond Beach

>He used to plink woodchucks out of his kitchen window (living in the country has numerous advantages). He was very proud of that gun. I fired it a couple of times when I was a kid, but I really don't have any recollection of how it shot.

He and his wife had no children so my brother and I were his only relatives (other than my father). He told me one time he would give it to me some day. Sadly, over the course of our lives all kinds of things changed and I didn't get it. It would have been sentimentally nice to have, but it would have probably wound up in a closet, as I've never lived in a rural setting since, so I don't have any regrets.

>I don't HAVE this rifle, I just know it to be a good varmint rifle. I watched my dad pick off at least a half dozen prairie dogs on my Grandmother's farm with it. He had also dropped an 11-point buck with it 20 years before. I wish I knew whatever happened to that gun. I suppose it got auctioned off when Grandma moved away from the farm.
