>I've been a bit busy of late. Started working on the parts before Xmas.
Butternut seat. White oak spindles, arm rest, back hoop and crest. Maple legs, stretchers and arm posts. Oak rockers. Walnut wedges and leg pins. Crest is pinned with hickory pegs.

Poplar is the standard here, with pine a close second. As an aspiring Windsor maker (3 so far) I have a whole lot to learn. But the satisfaction of getting one done right is just wonderful. >Nice job. I love how the legs attach to the rockers (bridle joints?). I like the standard Windsor and Shaker tops, however, I am not sold on having them there together. They seem to be at odds with each other. I think I'd prefer one or the other. Otherwise, this is excellent. While I aspire to building some chairs for my dining area, I know I would never get through one of these with all of those spindles! Especially since I don't turn!
