dust collector plasic pipe

Ed O'Neill

>I've had my Delta Dust collector for many years and have set up two shops using plastic pipe. Is it me or is there a conspiracy regarding the connection fitting to the collector ? The 4inch (black )fittings donot fit over the inlet on the collector . White pvc has to be used to rig the connection. WHY? Can anyone explain why there not made to fit or an adapter is not provided or available. Thanks for your thoughts. Ed

Hose goes ove the inlet

Mark Goodall - ATL - tooljunkie

>I'e always used 4" spiral hose to go the last few feet to the plastic inlet of the machine. Fits perfectly. The 4" spiral hose fits snuggly over the inlet.

>Thanks Mark for the comeback. I too have done the connection using the hose but it sure is alot more stable or should I say stiff if the makeup uses solid peices.. I have one of the two inlets dedicated to my radial arm saw. The second inlet is Teed with each side of the tee with its own gate for my unisaw and the second for my router dust box mounted under the extension table of the unisaw. All of the connectors are of solid plastic except that connection. If I use hose it flops around as opposed to being rigid. That one connection is the kink in the setup. Ed

the logic of the hose

Michael Dresdner

>The hose, even a short connection, absorbs vibration. A hard connection is more likely to jar loose or crack over time.
